Overview
ServerConnect Terminal is a local-first Android SSH and SFTP client. Horizon Tech Services does not operate an account system, advertising network, analytics service, telemetry service, or connection relay for the app.
Data handled by the app
The app lets you enter and store server profile information, including profile names, hostnames or IP addresses, ports, usernames, passwords, private SSH keys, and key passphrases. It also stores settings, command snippets, and SSH server host-key fingerprints that you choose to trust.
This information is used only to provide features you request. ServerConnect Terminal does not send it to Horizon Tech Services.
Local storage and security
- Passwords, private keys, passphrases, and trusted host-key fingerprints are stored using Android encrypted secure storage backed by the Android Keystore where supported by the device.
- Non-secret profile metadata, preferences, and command snippets are stored in the app's private local storage.
- Android operating-system backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for the app.
- A user can delete profiles and their associated credentials from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local app data subject to Android platform behavior.
No storage mechanism can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their devices with a screen lock and keep Android security updates current.
Backup and clipboard behavior
The optional JSON export includes profile metadata and command snippets. It deliberately excludes passwords, private SSH keys, and passphrases. The export is copied to the Android clipboard only when the user selects Export Backup. Clipboard contents may be visible to the operating system or other software, so users should paste and clear the export promptly.
The importer ignores credential fields even if they appear in an older or modified backup. Credentials must be entered again in the app.
Individual terminal commands or URLs are copied to the clipboard only when the user explicitly chooses a copy action.
Network communications
- SSH, SFTP, and port-forwarding connections go directly from the device to a host selected by the user.
- Connection-status checks go directly to the selected host and port.
- The app does not route SSH or SFTP traffic through Horizon Tech Services.
- Opening a detected URL or local forwarded webpage sends that URL to the external browser selected by the user.
- The offline command and error guide uses an on-device rules catalog and does not send prompts, commands, terminal output, or errors to an AI provider.
The operator of a server you connect to may collect connection information under that server's own policies. Horizon Tech Services does not control user-selected servers.
Biometrics
If biometric locking is enabled, the app asks Android to authenticate the user. The app receives only the authentication result; it does not receive or store fingerprint or face data.
Permissions
- Internet: Connect to hosts selected by the user.
- Network state: Detect network availability.
- Wake lock: Keep active terminal operations responsive when appropriate.
- Biometric: Authenticate the user when biometric locking is enabled.
Third-party software
The app includes open-source Flutter packages for SSH/SFTP, terminal rendering, secure storage, biometrics, preferences, fonts, animations, identifiers, formatting, and URL launching. The released app contains no advertising or analytics SDK. Open-source license notices are available from the app's Settings screen.
Google Play may process installation, diagnostic, purchase, or usage information under Google's own terms as part of distributing the app. This processing is performed by Google, not by ServerConnect Terminal's own code.
Children
ServerConnect Terminal is a general-purpose developer and system-administration tool and is not directed to children under 13. Horizon Tech Services does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
